Currently mourning the loss of Mitt Romney in the presidential race. We suppose this is synonymous with mourning the loss of our country. We’ll be back at it in January to assess Obama’s handling of the fiscal cliff and begin reporting on his second (stolen) term. All our best and sincerest “thank you” to Mitt Romney, Paul Ryan and their families for fighting for America.

September Job Numbers: Manufactured after Lousy Debate

As everyone knows at this point, the Labor Department issued the September jobs report on Friday. While the eyes of a typical Obama supporter would simplemindedly gravitate to the lower unemployment number of 7.8% and subsequently think the economy is recovering, those who may know a thing or two about the person that is President Obama, question the data’s validity. Here’s a breakdown of the real numbers:

  • 7.8% unemployment for September
  • 14.6% real unemployment for September (includes people who left Labor Force because they’ve given up looking)
  • Real number of un/underemployed increased 100K to 23.2million
  • Surprisingly, 800K found jobs, which is the biggest one-month jump since 1983 (I know, this would really happen under Obama)

Even Jack Welch, who built the one-time American powerhouse, GE, prior to Obama’s cronie, Jeff Immelt, running it into the ground by losing it’s triple-A credit rating, tweeted his skepticism of the numbers:

Now, in my humble opinion, it’s a sad day in America when the President of the United States spikes the football on 7.8% unemployment, especially since this is the man who said that, under his massive stimulus plan and subsequent (and now laughable) “shovel-ready” jobs, unemployment would now be at 5.6%. However, this is exactly what he did. On Friday, the president put out the following message via both his Twitter account as well as his campaign speech he made in Fairfax, VA the same day (I’ve included both):

We’re moving in the right direction? When MORE people find themselves unemployed? Hmm, this seems to have a similar smell as the backwardness of Obama’s slogan being “Forward” yet his wife equates voter ID laws to the civil rights era. The overall logic of this man’s thinking, or possibly his overall belief that he can pull the wool over America, is utterly shameful. Furthermore, this man, who says we’re moving in the right direction based on this one month of (manufactured) data, is the same man who, for forty straight months, has told the American people not to read too much into the numbers. Therefore, with his own logic, should we believe we’re heading in the right direction?

So, what does the administration have to say to those who question these implausible numbers? Well, for starters, our Labor Secretary, Hilda Solis, said she’s insulted by those who question the data and the Bureau of Labor Statistics commented that those who are uncertain about the numbers are ignorant. That’s right, Mr. Welch, you’ve gotten to where you are today because you’re ignorant. Again, the logic here is terribly skewed. Quite frankly, they can deflect those who question the stats all they want, but the administration is not really new to conducting horribly executed scandals/cover ups. A quick refresher as follows:

  • Fast & Furious: DOJ gun-running program leaving an American border patrol agent dead.
  • WORSE Economy than when Obama took office, despite massive spending in attempt to fix it.
  • Benghazi-gate: First post 9/11/2001 terror attacks on 9/11/12 and subsequent large-scale cover up.
  • ICE frat parties
  • Secret Service Sex Scandal
  • GSA spending abuse
  • DOJ/Media Matters Ties with emails to prove it.
  • Senate Majority Leader, Harry Reid, politicking on Senate floor (ok, not as relevant but it still shows the thought process of the people we’re dealing with!)

…and this is just to name a few. So, for those in the Obama administration who seem surprised that concerned Americans question the validity of the September numbers, can you now understand that Obama’s manipulation of anything in Washington is pretty plausible? Ok, the liberals probably still don’t understand but for those who have an ounce of sanity, they can see that Obama’s hand in the cookie jar isn’t all that unbelievable.

I think it goes without saying that Republicans and Democrats alike want to believe these figures and see this economy truly move in the right direction but the unemployment number being lower than 8% after 40 straight months coincidentally occurring one month prior to the election, naturally yields skepticism, especially given our Chicago-style president.

Michelle obviously didn’t get briefed on “Forward” Slogan

The First Lady embraces Rev. Al Sharpton at Foundation’s Dinner

Note to the Obama campaign: Although the administration is probably accustomed to the President skipping out on briefings (I believe it was less than 50% attendance for intelligence briefings), they may want to consider requiring Michelle attend the next campaign meeting so she can be reminded that the 2012 slogan is “Forward.” Background as follows:

On Saturday, the First Lady spoke at the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation to urge delegates to register voters and encourage African Americans to vote in November’s election. At the Foundation’s annual Phoenix dinner, she said:

Make no mistake about it, this is the march of our time. Marching door-to-door registering people to vote, marching everyone you know to the polls every single election. [That effort, she said] “is the movement of our era — protecting that fundamental right, not just for this election but for the next generation and generations to come. We cannot let anyone discourage us from casting our ballots. We cannot let anyone make us feel unwelcome in the voting booth. It is up to us to make sure that in every election, every voice is heard and every vote is counted. That means making sure our laws preserve that right.

And as we mark the 150th anniversary of the Emancipation Proclamation, I want you to remember that the house they were standing in — the house my family has the privilege of living in — that house was built in part by slaves.

Recently Voter ID laws have been a hot topic, as Republicans have backed such laws, which often require voters to present photo identification in order to cast their vote. They argue that these measures help mitigate voter fraud while maintaining the integrity of the election. Democrats, on the other hand, assert that the measures could be used to keep some poor and minority voters away from the polls because it can be more burdensome for them to get the required IDs.

So, without getting into the actual debate of whether Americans should be required to present ID at the booths (and, no, it has nothing to do with the Emancipation Proclamation), let’s analyze Michelle’s comments where we’ll ultimately deduce that she does, in fact, need to attend that campaign meeting.

First, in her comments, Mrs. Obama has noted that this is the march of our time by equating people voting for her husband to the civil rights movement. Naturally, in an attempt to appeal to her black audience, she’s using this rhetoric to simply pander to this particular segment of the American population. Obviously, if she was speaking to a true sample of the American population, she wouldn’t reference this throwback but because she’s in front of this once-wronged audience, she’s following in typical Obama campaign fashion and using scare tactics to get people to vote for her husband. She’s scaring them into thinking that this is an election about race and not the economy, foreign policy, energy independence, etc.

Second, I would hardly liken the civil rights movement to the voter ID laws that Republicans are pushing. During the civil rights era, blacks were intentionally discriminated against because of the color of their skin. At present time, no one race is being discriminated against, as voter ID laws are to secure all Americans’ most important right as a citizen – the right to vote. The First Lady is ineffectively trying to persuade the uninformed listener that the Republicans are trying to take away their “fundamental right” and, of course, said uninformed voter will probably believe her. With her assertion, Michelle is either horribly off-based by her comparison, or the civil rights era wasn’t so bad. I’m thinking she’s a bit skewed in her thinking…

Finally, as someone whose husband is running on the slogan “Forward,” Mrs. Obama has referred to something in the past. Her husband has (emptily) promised to move the country forward but, based on these comments, it seems his biggest threat in doing so will be his wife as she runs around seeking vengeance on an old strife. People should be outrage by the garbage she spewed – how dare she insinuate the Republicans and conservatives are planning to make anyone feel unwelcome at the booths.  If I recall correctly, the Black Panthers were quite “visible” at the polls in 2008. This is absolutely unacceptable language from our country’s First Lady. If it wasn’t already, it’s quite clear that she’s simply a shell of a First Lady – what’s inside is still a bitter Chicago partisan affiliate. With her divisive rhetoric, and many other examples through Obama’s presidency and campaign, it seems the Democrats can reference the color of one’s skin in attempt to secure votes (note the depicted bumper stickers that Democrats have made available online). In contrast, if conservatives and/or white people don’t bow down to our Commander-In-Chief, let alone simply disagree with his (terrible) policies, we’re then labeled a racist. Unfortunately, as the mainstream media perpetuates it, it’s become permissible for Democrats to label people, use race as necessary, and merely run on scare tactics and division. It’s really too bad Mr. Obama didn’t have a record to run on – it would have classed up his campaign.

So, perhaps I stand corrected. Mrs. Obama probably got the memo of “Forward” being the 2012 slogan, but where I think the disconnect lies is that the Obama campaign has once again said one thing and done another. In 2008, they said “Hope and Change,” but meant Hype and Blame. Similarly, in 2012, they’re Saying “Forward,” but meaning Backwards.

Palin Calls it as Americans see it

Sarah Palin has taken to Facebook to sound off against President Obama’s (lack of) handling our foreign affairs:

Apparently President Obama can’t see Egypt and Libya from his house. On the anniversary of the worst terrorist attacks ever perpetrated on America, our embassy in Cairo and our consulate in Benghazi were attacked by violent Islamic mobs. In Cairo, they scaled the walls of our embassy, destroyed our flag, and replaced it with a black Islamic banner. In Benghazi, the armed gunmen set fire to our consulate and killed an American staff member. The Islamic radicals claim that these attacks are in protest to some film criticizing Islam. In response to this, the U.S. embassy in Cairo issued a statement that was so outrageous many of us thought it must be a satire. The embassy actually apologized to the violent mob attacking us, and it even went so far as to chastise those who use free speech to “hurt the religious feelings of Muslims.” (Funny, the current administration has no problem hurting the “religious feelings” of Catholics.)

But where is the president’s statement about this? These countries represent his much touted “Arab Spring.” How’s that Arab Spring working out for us now? Have we received an apology yet from our “friends” in the Muslim Brotherhood for the assault on our embassy?

It’s about time our president stood up for America and condemned these Islamic extremists. I realize there must be a lot on his mind these days – what with our economy’s abysmal jobless numbers and Moody’s new warning about yet another downgrade to our nation’s credit rating due to the current administration’s failure to come up with a credible deficit reduction plan. And, of course, he has a busy schedule – with all those rounds of golf, softball interviews with the “Pimp with the Limp,” and fundraising dinners with his corporate cronies. But our nation’s security should be of utmost importance to our Commander-in-chief. America can’t afford any more “leading from behind” in such a dangerous world. We already know that President Obama likes to “speak softly” to our enemies. If he doesn’t have a “big stick” to carry, maybe it’s time for him to grow one.

Thank you, Governor Palin, for saying what everyone is thinking especially Obama’s sole ability to “lead from behind,” or reactively, rather than proactively. He’s simply a Responder-in-Chief – nothing that he’s done has been proactive as it relates to national security (and in many other areas, but I suppose that could be a whole different post). This guy’s in too large of a position to simply respond to issues; if that’s all he’s capable of doing, I’m sure they have some non-exempt administrative work available at the GSA, where he’ll then be generously rewarded for his nothingness. Unfortunately, however, the administration doesn’t even recognize the fault in their “do nothing first, apologize second” strategy, as they tweeted a picture of Obama on September 14th stating: “Photo of the Day: President Obama participates in a conference call with his national security team in Golden, CO:”

Are you serious? Are they trying to show they have their “stuff” together after the first terror attacks post 9/11/2001? If they are, do they realize that he’s on the call three days after the attacks in Libya? And that it didn’t do much since American embassies have continued to be attacked post this clearly important call? For all we know, he’s on the phone with David Axelrod making sure they’ve paid their latest balance to the mainstream media for their campaign work. So, not only is the takeaway that Obama was laughably late in this situation, but it’s also that he was campaigning immediately after the attacks (hence, him being in CO…after him being in Vegas as well). Mind you, these points are all made without even mentioning that more than half the time, the Commander-in-Chief does not attend his daily intelligence meeting.

Yes, at one point I did believe that one should respect the Office of the Presidency even if you’re not in support of the person occupying it but given that the man who’s occupying it has not only created more debt than my child can pay off and insulted my religion and God, but he’s also jeopardized my family’s security, I agree with Gov. Palin – Obama needs to “grow one.”

Not holding my breath that he will, but he needs to…

Wow, What a week for Obama and Team

How could we possibly write on just one issue when it seems that the Obama presidency is finally imploding right before our very eyes? If for some reason you’ve been living under a rock this week and don’t know why Obama’s firing can’t wait until November here’s a review:

First, on Tuesday at around 10pm, we had the unfortunate attack on the U.S. Consulate in Libya that left four dead, including U.S. ambassador Christopher Stevens. The attack also left three wounded. President Obama did not officially speak to the country until 10:35am on Wednesday morning from the Rose Garden. A noteworthy quote from his albeit, too little too late, speech was that the US “rejects the denigration of religious beliefs.” Meanwhile, his own party booed God at the Democratic National Convention.

Second, the U.S. Embassy compound in Yemen’s capital, Sanaa, was just another in a string of recent attacks on U.S. diplomatic posts in the Middle East. According to Fox News, protesters smashed windows as they breached the embassy perimeter and reached the compound grounds but they didn’t enter the main building. The protesters brought down the American flag in the courtyard, burned it and replaced it with a black banner bearing Islam’s declaration of faith — “There is no God but Allah.”

Third, we have the newest accusation of corruption within the Obama administration. Health and Human Services head, Kathleen Sebelius, broke federal law (the Hatch Act) by campaigning for President Obama this winter. According to the Office of Special Counsel, Sebelius broke the law by making “extemporaneous partisan remarks” during a speech in February at a Human Rights Campaign Event in Charlotte, N.C. Unfortunately, yet not surprisingly, a White House spokesman has already said that Sebelius will not be punished, as she recognized the error and has already paid back the taxpayer dollars to the U.S. Treasury. He further said that Sebelius has taken an ethics class to ensure this does not happen again and that the administration holds itself to the “highest ethical standards.” It’s apparent (but, again, not surprising) that we can’t really count on the President to call out one of his own. He certainly hasn’t with Eric Holder and a little botched gun-running operation known as Fast and Furious.

Lastly, the Chicago Teachers Union has gone on strike including 30,000 teachers, administrators and support staff workers. This has put 400,000 children out of school and has not only made their education second to the teachers’ greed, but has also made a logistical nightmare for their parents. The teachers were offered a 16% increase by the broke city but did not accept this proposal, as they are requesting 35%. There are so many directions we can go on this: we can say that’s ridiculously high and is not comparable whatsoever with private sector employees whose usual 3% has been frozen for 4 years. We can say that Chicago’s children are statistically some of the most poorly educated children. We can say that these teachers, who are among the highest paid in the country, need to understand they have to tighten their purse strings like every other American right now. But what is most important to say here is that these are Obama’s friends – the unions – and his silence on the issue is telling.

So after his lackluster Rose Garden speech on Wednesday, Obama must have moved on to deal with foreign relations matters to ensure America’s security, right? Negative. Obama was off to Vegas for campaigning where he told his crowd of kool-aid drinkers that America had a “tough day.” That’s all it was – a tough day. I wonder what the families of the victims think about that little morsel of leadership and empathy. But, when he looks this at ease and continues his “I’m cool” persona, guess it really wasn’t a big deal to him:

All in all, we’ve learned many things about Obama this week. Most of which we knew including his poor leadership skills, his overall complacent attitude when it comes to our foreign affairs, and his corrupt staff. Therefore, I suppose the major takeaways from this week are that:

  1. He campaigned when America was/is under attack (yes, Barack, war can be waged on us even though it’s not on our soil).
  2. He condemned Mitt for the bold statements he made following Tuesday’s attacks more than he condemned the actions of the Muslim extremists.
  3. Obama’s proposal to kumbaya in the Middle East when he first assumed office has further proven to be joke.
  4. He figuratively bowed to foreign leaders this week and literally did it previously:

Most importantly, what Obama and his liberal friends need to take away from this week is that the God Christians celebrate here in the U.S., you know, the one they booed, is apparently now not looking so bad. Perhaps they want to refocus themselves to see that their Muslim friends didn’t get their friendship memo, as it appears they want to kill them and all Americans. They might want to be careful who they call friends and realize that Israel is probably (definitely) a safe choice at this point unlike their gun-wielding Muslims. Whether they will or will not, however, remains to be seen, but what we do know is that Obama’s “too busy” (on the golf course) to meet with our said friend, Israel. His snub was heard around the world but one place it wasn’t heard? — at the fundraiser he attended this week hosted by Beyonce and Jay-Z.  Their poor judgment has been a theme the last four years, and certainly over the 2012 campaign. After all, these are the people who applauded Sandra Fluke who’s best known for her desire for promiscuity without responsibility. They’re also the same people who probably feel quite silly right now after claiming that abortion and gay rights are THE election issues when it is and has been national security and the economy. I’m sure they’ll find a way to blame Mitt’s taxes for the Middle East turmoil…

We can only hope that the president’s Teflon outer shell has now finally been compromised by his glaring inability to lead domestically and abroad.

Here’s a final note, one I will steal from his brother Jeb, George Bush kept us safe. He let the world know that we will not tolerate violence or attacks. Mr. Obama’s ambivalence has done just the opposite and this week’s events are the result of such lack of global authority.

9/11: May We Never Forget…Never

Captured by Thomas E. Franklin

I’m sure many of us are in the same boat as we sit back today and wonder how 11 years have gone by since the terror attacks on September 11, 2001. The moment when we found out – where we were, what we were thinking, all of our questions – are still so vivid that it surely doesn’t feel like 11 years have passed.

September 11th is one of those days that gives pause to every American’s busy day. Just saying the words, that date, you can’t help but picture the symbol of our financial fortitude, the World Trade Center buildings, burning and ultimately crumbling down to the ground. You can’t help thinking about how our country’s defense headquarters, the Pentagon, looked like a war zone and you’ll never forget the words of the heroes on Flight 93 – “let’s roll” – whose bravery ultimately drove a plane into the ground instead of another building. On this day, so many Americans helped other Americans regardless of faith, political persuasions, or their own safety. Sure this year’s an election year, when convictions and contentiousness are at their highest, but let us pause today to remember that while 9/11 was truly one of the lowest days in America’s history, something wonderful was displayed – American spirit, bravery, and sincere kindness. We should work vigorously to retain these intangible displays of kinship that showed the world that, while we could be attacked, we could not be broken. In remembrance of 9/11, hopefully we can all take a step back and remember that we’re a country who sticks together during tough times – not tears one another apart.

Ultimately, 11 years later, we can hope for a lot as a result of 9/11. We can hope for better airport security, better intelligence, and, obviously, less terror. But, most importantly, we can hope that with the passage of 11 years the old adage, time heals all wounds, has truly been realized for the victims’ families.

Our prayers are with all those who lost someone, or who suffered from the attacks of September 11, 2001.

Note: @Sistervative will not be tweeting today in honor of the victims and their families. There are bigger things in life than the failure that is Obama. We will resume our fight tomorrow.

Breaking News: Mitt has Ended the (liberally-induced) War on Women

Probably one of the best lines of Mitt Romney’s acceptance speech at the RNC was when he poignantly spoke of Ann’s work as a mother:

… these were tough days on Ann, particularly. She was heroic through it all. Five boys with our families a long way away. I had to travel a lot for my job then, and I’d call and try to offer support. But every mom knows that that does not help get the homework done or get the kids out the door to school. I knew that her job as a mom was harder than mine. I knew without question that her job as a mom was a lot more important than mine. And as America saw Tuesday night, Ann would have succeed at anything she wanted to do.

As a woman who worked in the private sector for almost seven years but recently traded it in for life as a stay-at-home mom, I truly felt as if Mitt was talking to me. He spoke directly to all of the moms out there who have dedicated themselves to raising their child(ren). By investing their time in their children, they’re investing in creating productive citizens who will go on to be the next generation of the United States of America. Having watched Ann raise five poised and gracious young men, Romney understands the importance of the “stay at home mom” and, with this line, he has truly validated that it is, in fact, a very real and significant job (despite Democratic strategist Hilary Rosen’s comments to the contrary).

So, now you’re wondering, “how has he ended the War on Women when he’s simply endorsed this archaic role?” By way of his stance on the topic, Romney has publically supported women doing something that, at one time in America, was actually the norm. While certainly a risk in losing the “progressive” women, he stood his ground and supported a woman’s role as a mother which, in today’s political and social climate, often seems overlooked or devalued. Women are charged with “doing it all” in today’s world – they have to work, raise kids, be a good wife, maintain their size zero figure, accomplish household chores, etc. And, unfortunately, if they don’t, sentiments of inadequacy are cast upon them. Quite honestly, with these expectations, you really don’t have to wonder why there’s been so much published about how stressed women are and their subsequent issues (eating disorders, obesity, anxiety, depression, etc.). This is the War on Women – the pressures, the “you have to do it all” attitudes from liberal women. Romney has, in essence, simplified women’s lives by supporting those who feel that “doing it all” means raising their children into dynamic adults. That night, I heard a big “it’s ok” – it’s ok to forgo all of the other pressures and do what you feel is best for your family. He’s also acknowledged that raising children is no easy fete and one’s dedication to such is admirable.

In contrast, you have Obama and all of his fellow liberals, spewing “it’s my body” and “someone pay for my birth control” rhetoric in attempt to create a War on Women when really the War stems from their progressive values. While their platform innately creates this War, Obama’s policies and overall failed presidency certainly doesn’t help either. A few examples, as follows:

  1. In June, 5,785,000 women 16 years and older were not working, according to Bureau of Labor Statistics. That is up by 780,000, or 15.5%, from the 5,005,000 women who were unemployed in January 2009 when Obama took office. In this case, the numbers speak for themselves.
  2. As a Senator, Obama voted down the Illinois Born Alive Infant Protection Act which would require doctors to administer care to babies who were born alive after a failed abortion attempt. In other words, Mr. Obama believes that it’s morally and lawfully permissible to allow live babies to be left to die in a hospital closet and taken out as biohazard, not remains of a person. Where is the War on Women in this example? The War is on the tiniest of women – the murdered baby girls.

In these trying times, it nice to have a politician stick to what he believes despite it being viewed (and subsequently articulated) as a “step back” by progressives. We’ve been through so much as a nation but never has our core foundation been jeopardized as much as with this President. With Obama, the days of yesterday, including anything that’s traditional, will be nothing like the days of today and those of the future. He’s shunned our history and our values and attempted to redefine traditional/conservative people as bigots or racists all to divide this country and continue his personal agenda. Sometimes, looking backward to our roots gets us moving forward.

So, for the women out there, only you can define what “doing it all means.” Do not allow the loud liberal women to pressure you into thinking that being at home with your children is a subpar life (to them, you run around in an apron all day). After all, they’re only supportive of YOU until you claim conservative (Nikki Minaj can tell you about this).
